Dear Friends,
It’s time for a little reset of our souls as we reflect on some powerful words from the Scriptures.
For God alone my soul waits in silence;
from him comes my salvation.
He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.
Psalm 62:1-2
I don’t know about you, but there is something so comforting that happens deep in my soul when I think on these passages. It’s like a certainty comes over me that I can trust God again.
Yes, you read that right. Again. My trust in the Lord is something that has to be renewed from time to time. I’m really good at letting my circumstances, and what I see right in front of me, take over and be my truth. I’m constantly in the process of learning to trust in God—sometimes daily, and sometimes hourly.
He alone is my rock and my salvation. I could write for pages on how this is so hard to make God, just God, my rock and my salvation. I’m really good at turning to other humans, other worldly things, to save me from my circumstances. And I’m let down every single time.
My Friends, God wants us to wait for His instruction; to shut our mouths and be silent in His presence. He wants to be the rock on which we live—a solid foundation to grow. He wants to be our savior—not just at the moment that we accept Jesus as our Savior, but every single day. He wants to be our fortress. Oh my goodness, our fortress? Imagine running to God to be protected from all the things, inside a fortress He’s built just for you. Can you picture that?
I pray that this devotion speaks to you just where you are at today. Please reach out to me if you would like to visit further, or if you would like prayer for something specific. It would be my privilege to pray for you.
Now, let’s take this Word from our Lord and live like we have the Creator God of the Universe with us in all things at all times, because we do.
With love and prayers,
Krista
